Tour Overview

Africa's Finest, Most Remote Wilderness

Kidepo Valley National Park ranks among Africa’s finest wildernesses. From Apoka, in the heart of the park, a vast savanna landscape stretches in every direction toward distant mountain ranges straddling the Uganda-South Sudan-Kenya border. Far from the crowds, Kidepo offers some of the most exceptional predator sightings on the continent, including cheetahs found nowhere else in Uganda.

This expedition also brings you into contact with the Karamojong, semi-nomadic pastoralists whose vibrant culture and traditions have remained largely unchanged for generations, alongside the northern route through Murchison Falls and Kitgum.

Trip Itinerary

Day-By-Day Itinerary

Depart Kampala and drive north, breaking the long journey with a stop and overnight near Murchison Falls National Park.
An early start heading further north via Gulu and Kitgum toward Kidepo. Lunch in Gulu en route, arriving at your lodge in the late afternoon in time to settle in before dinner.
After an early breakfast, head into the park for a full day of game viewing across the Narus Valley, looking for lions, cheetahs, buffalo, zebra, and over 475 recorded bird species.
Morning game drive followed by an afternoon cultural visit to a Karamojong manyatta (homestead) to learn about their pastoral traditions, dance and way of life. Optional excursion to the Kanangorok hot springs near the South Sudan border.
One final game drive at sunrise before beginning the long drive south, overnighting again near Murchison Falls or Gulu.
Complete the journey back to Kampala or Entebbe International Airport, arriving in the afternoon or evening.
