Detailed 6 Days Rwanda Uganda Gorilla Tour

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali, Transfer to Parc Des Volcans

On your first day of the Uganda gorilla tour from Kigali, you will arrive at the airport in Kigali and be met by our driver guide to be briefed about the tour highlights before transferring you to Kigali city center for a brief city tour and also have your lunch from there. After enjoying your lunch, we shall embark on a scenic journey drive to Ruhengeri the national headquarters of Volcanoes National Park. On arrival here, we shall check in at the lodge around then, later on, visit the nearby communities around for local interaction with the Rwanda people before retiring for dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park

On this second day of your Uganda gorilla tour, you will after your breakfast drive to the headquarters of the park to attend to a crucial briefing about the gorilla trekking experience from the tour guides. After the briefing, the guides will divide into groups of 8 persons with regards to your physical fitness, gorilla group of interest and then, later on, you will start the trek searching for the gorillas in the mist volcanoes of the park.

Meeting the gorillas will be the most thrilling experience as you will be amazed at the Silverbacks. It will be a great time watching the gorillas play, communicate with each other and the mothers feed the young ones. In fact, today will be your day to view and learn a lot about the gentle giants. You will be permitted to strictly one hour maximum with the gorillas before returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Golden Monkey Tracking / Dian Fossey Grave

This day of the Uganda gorilla tour is very special! You may choose to go for the golden monkey tracking or visit the Karisoke research center for the Dian Fossey Hike for the whole day with peculiar visits to several communities and schools. Have dinner and overnight at your previous lodging area.

Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Early in the morning, wake up to a tasty breakfast and start a journey transfer to Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to have a Uganda taste of the 6 Days Uganda Gorilla Tour.
Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Forest Camp.

Day 5: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest Park

bwindi-gorilla-trekWake up to a sumptuous energetic breakfast then head on to the park headquarters with packed lunch for a crucial gorilla trekking briefing before hiking into the jungle of the thick impenetrable forests of Bwindi to trek the gorilla group you were assigned at the time of the briefing. Upon finding the gorillas, you are permitted a maximum of 1 hour to be with the gorillas as the guides lead you through the whole process of answering your questions, and so on.

After the trek, you can opt to proceed with a nature walk and forest trail, if your physical fitness is still strong. The nature walk will lead you through to the local Batwa community where you will visit and tour the local shops, children’s school, cultural communities, among others.
Return for dinner and overnight at the previous lodge.

 

Day 6: Transfer Back to Kampala

Have an early breakfast and after that bid goodbye to the great Bwindi forest driving back to Kigali where you will have lunch and after your guide will transfer you to the Airport for your flight back home. That’s sadly the last day of the 6 Days Uganda gorilla tour. We wish you the best of your flight journey back home.
